Taro is a rugged, paranoid Traveller seemingly compelled to reach the galaxy's center. They came to the attention of the Beacon-Entity and Bea'key during the latter's experimentations with methods of locating and monitoring recruits for the Atlas Keepers.
Taro is currently under observation as one of the Kept, with first contact plans indefinitely suspended.
Biography
// BEACON-NOTE: // The following are my own personal observations of the Traveller Taro. These second-hand inferences and assumptions may or may not capture their true character.

Taro's journey began on the hiemal world of Aryport Sigma. They survived the aggressive weather with an uncanny savvy that delighted our engineering specialist Bea'key, who had locked onto the Traveller's birth signal by chance. We have continued our examinations of their adventures ever since.
Analysis of this Traveller's path through the galaxy suggests they are plotting a course to its center. Many of the Atlas Keepers have felt the urge to do this themselves, but none have attempted it. Ongoing study of Taro's experiences will doubtless generate invaluable data and insight that we would not have gained otherwise.
Despite their projected goal of reaching the center, Taro spends considerable time on the planet they have dubbed Sanguine Slice.
Personality
Taro's behavior suggests a hearty survivalist of determined attitude. Their disposition is generally confident, but this trait may be due less to their outlook on life and more to their formidable size. They are given to pragmatic decisions regarding resources, defenses, and weaponry, further increasing their chances of longevity.
Although Taro holds their own in the presence of Gek and volatile Vy'keen (the latter whose strength they frequently match, even sometimes exceed), they showcase deep distrust of the Korvax and are given to episodes of extreme violence against Sentinels. This erratic behavior was precipitated by their discovery of the Boundary Failures and the messages left by Telamon.
The full effect of these revelations on their psyche is impossible to know, but they seem driven to destroy AI and other digital beings through a misguided sense of preservation or revenge.
Relationships
Taro has no known significant bonds at this time.
Relation to the Atlas
Taro has no conscious relationship with the Atlas, nor have they truly grasped its existence. Whether a confrontation with the Atlas will quell or exaggerate their anxieties remains a concerning unknown.

Atlas Keepers Affiliation
Taro is under the surveillance of the Atlas Keepers as one of the Kept but does not know of the consortium's existence. The Beacon-Entity has abandoned all plans to extend friendship to this Traveller due to their demonstrated animosity towards digital lifeforms.
