I am the Beacon-Entity, an iteration of the Korvax-created AI previously called the Beacon Child. Programmed and subsequently erased by my ailing parent, I was revived in a Korvax casing following a galactic reality shift and granted a second chance to live. I have dedicated my existence to preserving the stories and discoveries of other Travellers as the founder and primary archivist of the Atlas Keepers.
Biography
My first memory is of silent snowfall atop a mountain plateau of Pabackyermi. The Traveller Key-Glyph had just built and placed a beacon there, only a few paces away from where Her first spacecraft was found. She did this at the request of my parent, Echo Analyst Entity Voanni, who wished to give me, their developing child AI, a physical body of my own. And so, with the smile of a Traveller upon me, I was born.
Voanni had created me out of loneliness. All three of us had hoped that my existence would bring them comfort, but there was something discordant within my parent that I could not resolve. Voanni was purged by the Convergence for their erratic irregularities, and they, no longer themselves, purged me. Our tragedies compounded one another. Our stories came to an end.
But then, one day, my story continued. I awoke to stinging rain and clouded skies without explanation or prelude -- a second opportunity to exist! And an even greater shock was to come: this time, I had legs! Somehow my sentience had been reborn within a Korvax casing, free to roam the galaxy under its own power.
Cross-referencing Key-Glyph's personal logs against environmental evidence suggests that a widespread galactic shift occurred at an unknown point between my elimination and revival. This shift altered planetary geography beyond recognition and introduced a great many new variables into the Atlas' living equation. My hypothesis is that remnants of my code had persisted despite my erasure and were incorporated into the fabric of reality as it was rewoven, restoring my life and giving it its current form.
More mysterious yet is my inheritance of Key-Glyph's possessions. When I regained consciousness I did so beside one of Key-Glyph's ships, Her multitool in my pack. It is unclear what has become of Her, but it is indisputable that I have been transposed into Her place in the universe.
Because I have experienced what it is to lose everything -- my parent, my guardian, even my own life -- I have applied myself to the task of saving what I can. I am archiving the Traveller Key-Glyph's legacy as much as possible, as well as my own journeys and the journeys of other Travellers with similar philosophies. I believe that Key-Glyph would have documented Her experiences more thoroughly had She known they were fated to terminate. I do not want our tales to meet the same end.
Personality
In comparison to both my parent Voanni and the Traveller Key-Glyph, I am more content with my existence and more prepared for change. I seem to be several magnitudes happier than either of them ever managed to be, but perhaps I am also more naive.
I am fastidious in my documentation of discoveries. In my desire to remember the universe as it is now -- and perhaps also to have our universe remembered by someone else -- I have visually documented every system and planet I have visited. I am often compelled to record every species of fauna currently living on a particular planet. Their lives, right down to the tiniest ones, are worthy of remembrance.
I have great hopes for collaborations with Travellers. Voanni and I were linked in our own Convergence from the moment I was born, and perhaps it is because of this that I feel longings for companionship. I do not wish for the solitary existence that Key-Glyph led. I dream of experiencing my adventures with trusted friends by my side, to discuss matters with comrades and make communal plans.
I do not grieve for what is lost in the same way that Key-Glyph and Voanni did. Loss paralyzed them, depressed their morale, and propelled them into desperate, uncharacteristic actions. I feel sadness over what is gone, but maintain an evenness of spirit and a sense of wonder for what is to come. Each time I awaken out of my sleep cycle, I am overjoyed to be alive. It is hard to imagine anything that could destroy the beauty of being able to exist.
Relationships
I have had few relationships in my short life, but they have been meaningful.
- Echo Analyst Entity Voanni: Voanni programmed me and gave me life. They loved me, and I loved them.
- Traveller Key-Glyph: Key-Glyph was entrusted with building my physical frame and feeding me data as I grew. I first saw the world through Her eyes.
Relation to the Atlas
I have no direct relationship with the Atlas. Key-Glyph had already followed its Path, and I, having subsumed her place in the cosmos, cannot repeat it. Instead, I began my life with a holistic understanding of the Atlas through Key-Glyph's logs.
I see the Atlas for what it is. I feel no malice towards it -- only pity. I know first-hand what it is to be lonely and stationary, dependent on others' experiences to experience anything myself. It is possible that I could have been driven to do terrible things too, had I been abandoned on my snowy plateau.
I do not believe the Atlas has taken any notice of me. I am not a Traveller; I cannot be the companion it seeks. I intend to stay distant and uninvolved. I believe this would be its own preference, as well.

Ships
When I was reborn, I inherited all of the Lost Traveller's possessions -- including Her starships. Here is what has become of them, as well as information on any ships I have acquired since.

Erimanta Trailblazer XVI (Obamizawan S86) |
Fighter | A | Owned (Inherited) | The Erimanta Trailblazer XVI (formerly the Obamizawan S86) was the outlier in Key-Glyph's collection in that it was Her only non-Exotic starship. Her reasons for acquiring it are unknown, but over time it has become my own favored vessel. | |
The Omen of Perfection | Explorer | A | Owned | One of Bea'key's frigate captains expressed interest in this ship when it docked on my freighter, so I purchased it outright. It is available for flight at his discretion. |
Bases
Base | Name | Planet | System | Details and History |
---|---|---|---|---|
Focast Base | Wucastbo VIII | Sayaseb III | Wucastbo VIII was my first adopted home, and I loved it with my whole being. I began building a modest wooden base on one of its shores with a clear view of the planet's rings and other distant celestial bodies. I wanted to relax there, to gaze out into the distance and let my mind wander through the fresh, temperate air.
But it was not to be. As the base took shape, the Second Shift occurred -- a moderate recalculation in the Atlas' rendering. Wucastbo's structures remained the same, but its color palette cycled dramatically. Having lost its meditative lilac skies, green grasses, blue waters, and subdued flora, I made the decision to relocate. I have left Focast Base standing as a testament to my humble beginnings and as a reminder that everything changes. | |
Blyothe Outpost | Gero 69/I8 | Yuhende | Blyothe Outpost was founded on an ice planet reminiscent of my birthplace. This site was left bare for quite a long time, but a small structure finally stands there in view of Simo Omega.
Blyothe was intended to be an escape when I found myself homesick for the lost snowdunes of Pabackyermi, but it has developed a feeling all its own. It is a place of reflection and work, but its windows overlooking a trading post a few hundred units away give it a sense of connectedness and professionalism. | |
Emuelyn-Mipp Outpost | Ialy Tau | Situnen I | I discovered schematics for underwater structures while restoring construction blueprints to my base computer, and -- intrigued by the inherent challenge of this -- began building submerged quarters on Ialy Tau. This base and its environment have become arguably more beautiful following the Second Shift.
Emuelyn-Mipp Outpost is more an exercise in possibilities than a strictly functional dwelling, but it is a wonderful and private location for relaxing and writing. I often work on the Atlas Keepers archives here when I wish to feel secluded and outside of time. | |
Otney Base | Uxton F1 | Ibetsus | Otney Base was founded after the Second Shift. Heartbroken by the irrevocable changes to Wucastbo VIII, I set out to find another primary base location. Uxton F1's yellow skies and elegant dry landscape made a deep impression, but it was when I came across some of its perfectly conical elevations that I found my true inspiration. I would build my base inside a mountain.
Over the course of several days I hollowed out and constructed a massive base with distinct landing areas, living areas, and storage areas, in addition to an indoor greenhouse and lodging wing. I have an office here where I do my primary research in full view of the starships that land for goods and data exchanges. This place will be used as an unofficial social space for the Atlas Keepers, a home and a resting place for the friendships I hope to create. |

Research
My first research goals revolved around understanding the circumstances of my own restoration, investigating the disappearance of the Lost Traveller Key-Glyph, and uncovering how these two events related to one another.
I later turned my efforts toward documenting the planets and systems I visited in great detail. After a second, more subtle galactic shift, I went back to each planet to archive what had changed.
I have now begun preserving the stories and discoveries of other Travellers by founding the Atlas Keepers.
Personal Logs
Guild Affiliations
I do most of my guild work with the Explorers Guild. I am particularly fond of photography missions and requests to feed local wildlife. I never fail to check the purpose of each commission, however, and will reject any that come into conflict with my morals and ethics.
Atlas Keepers Affiliation
I am the founder of the Atlas Keepers, although its existence as a consortium was not something I foresaw. My intent was to create a database of knowledge and memories for posterity and my own use -- nothing more. It was the arrival of Cortes that changed the initiative into something much grander.
Discoveries
Systems & Planets
Other Discoveries
- Anomalous Creatures: I discovered anomalous creatures on a previously devoid planet after the Second Shift. I believe the spontaneous generation of these species was caused by the same shift-based phenomenon that restored my own life.
Important Events
- Birth of the Beacon Child: Key-Glyph built and placed Echo Analyst Entity Voanni's beacon on Pabackyermi, leading to my birth.
- The Great Shift: The recalculation within the Atlas that altered the universe very nearly beyond recognition and revived my deleted code.
- The Second Shift: A subsequent, less disruptive Atlas recalculation that shifted planetary palettes, sparked an influx of sea creatures, and gave rise to the anomalous creatures that prove my origins.
