Trading Pokémon on the Poké Classic Network
Way back in the early 2010s I used to love trading shinies to players who'd posted pleas and/or sob stories for them, especially if they'd done so in my favorite LiveJournal community (more on that later). This sadly ended when the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection was shuttered in 2014... but then I discovered the Poké Classic Network in 2025.
Nowadays I occasionally offer small groups of shinies on the Global Trade System via the Gen IV PCN, usually related to some kind of seasonal theme, or randomly surprise someone with a shiny for their regular listing. My trades all come with nicknames, typically arrive holding Mail, and, if they're one of my own offers, will only ever ask for a Zubat in return.
Below are the shinies I've exchanged with folks in these post-Nintendo Wi-Fi days. Each one was chained with the Poké Radar and traded via the Global Trade System or the Wi-Fi Club in the hopes they'd wind up with someone who'd love them.
Note: I'm always looking to collect more pips on my Geonet globe, so if you want to up your chances of getting a random shiny traded to you over the GTS... set your location at the Global Trade Station!
